John R McHugh

John Raymond McHugh became a bright new star in the heavens on June 14, 2017. John was born in Butte, Montana on April 20, 1942 to Della and John McHugh. He graduated from Butte High School and received a Bachelor degree from Western Montana College in Dillon, Montana in Education. While working on his education he was a member of the United States Marine Corp.

In 1964, he married Kathie, his wife of 52 years. They moved to Toledo, Oregon where he was a teacher for 30 years in the Lincoln County School District.

John is survived by his wife Kathie of Newport, Oregon; son JohnMike (Janet) of Salem, Oregon; daughter Kelli Smith (Tom) of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He is survived by his grandchildren: Dylan, Drew and Davis McHugh, T.J., Baylee, Kennedy, Max, Chris, Hayden, Addisyn, Xia, Sam, Harrison, Havyn, Reese, Finnley, Meisyn, Quincy, Emersy, and Beilyn Smith, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Sister-inlaw Marilyn Patrick (Tony) of Butte, Montana; brothers-in-law Jimmy Smith of Idaho Falls, Idaho and Walter Smith (Becky) of Servena Park, Maryland.

His parents and sister Carol Marie preceded him in death.

His Golden Retriever Butte shares in our loss. He is so missed.
