Andrew “Andy” Jefferson Baldwin, age 61, passed away very unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. Andy was born September 14, 1956 to Ada and Lawrence Baldwin in Newport, Oregon. He spent the majority of his school years in Kansas City, KS and his high school years at Eddyville School. He graduated in 1975. Andy fell in love at first sight with his wife Julie and they were married less than a year later on June 9, 1979. He and Julie have two sons that Andy was extremely proud of and a grandson. Nothing meant more to Andy than his family.
Andy retired in 2012 after driving log truck, working at GP, LCSD Maintenance and ODOT. He was ecstatic that Julie would be joining him in retirement. He loved to spend time with his wife, kids and grandson, family, friends. He loved fishing, camping, playing cards and sharing that ever-flowing BS. His dogs Lady and Buster, his four-legged “kids” were always with him.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents Ada and Lawrence. He is survived by his wife Julie; children: Bruce (Amanda) of Newberg and Eric (Stephanie); grandson Blake; nephew-son Jordon Morlok; brothers: Mike (Juanita) and Ted, all of Toledo; half siblings: Larry Baldwin and Rita Burks; Julie’s siblings: Jeff (Barb) Morlok, Maxine (Dan) Cleeton, Mark Morlok and 10 nephews; as well as his best fishing and BS buddy Larry (Patty) Johnson.
A gathering in honor of Andy is planned for Friday, May 11th at the Yaquina Yacht Club, Newport at 2:00 p.m. Afterward, those interested are welcome to gather at Andy’s home in Toledo.
