Anne A. Powell, 68.
Anne was born in Denver, Colorado to Carol and William Powell on November 13th, 1950. She attended elementary and secondary school in Broomfield, Colorado and graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Anne was the adventurer in the family. She lived on both coasts and in Florida after leaving Colorado. After trying California and the Portland area, she lived in various locations in Lincoln County, eventually settling near Newport, where she worked for Georgia Pacific until her retirement. Anne was an avid reader and loved to travel. She joined family members on many excursions, including trips with her mother Carol to both China and Egypt.
Anne is preceded in death by her father William and her grandparents. She is survived by her mother, her three sisters Lynne Powell (Ann), Nancy Hampson, and Eileen Albrecht (Van), as well as nieces and a nephew—Whitney, Judi (Kory), Zachary, Rae—and great-nephew Duke.
The family would like to thank the Samaritan Newport Hospice and Gleneden Sunshine House for their care during Anne’s illness. No services are planned.
If you would like to donate in Anne’s memory, we suggest: My Sister’s Place (http://mysistersplace.us/), the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation which supports the Samaritan Newport Hospice (https://www.samhealth.org/find-a-location/g/good-samaritan-hospital-foundation), or a charity of your choice.
