Patricia Evans Obituary

Dancing again in heaven

Patricia Evans was born in Great Falls, MT. She died of complications from Alzheimer’s Disease on November 20, 2018, joining her beloved husband Curt in heaven while surrounded by her family. Patty moved to Fairbanks, Alaska in high school where she married her first husband. She lived in Spokane, WA with her son after divorcing and was a beloved waitress at the Golden Hour restaurant. It was at the Golden Hour where she met the love of her life Curt Evans. He famously stood on the table tops and declared his love in a way only he could - “I love you Peppermint Patty sir!” Curt and Patty married in 1974 and made a life for themselves in Spokane. They owned several phone stores and raised their daughters Susan and Elizabeth. In 1987 they felt the call to move to the Central Oregon coast to preach. They resided in Toledo until they both moved to Corvallis together in 2016. Pat volunteered with churches, schools, and elsewhere in the community. She was an excellent baker and cook - her cheesecake recipe was famous with friends and family. She enjoyed art and created paintings, fabric arts, wood lathe bowls, and award winning flower arrangements. Pat was a gardener and raised many different animals on their property. She worked for years at Gracie’s at Smuggler’s Cove and was lovingly known as “mom”. After the restaurant closed she went back to school and in her 60s earned her Associate’s degree in Accounting from Oregon Coast Community College. Everywhere Pat went, people felt supported and loved by her. Friends, staff and family spoke of how much they loved her and how she had helped them - even as Alzheimer’s took her language and mobility. Patty was preceded in death by her husband Curt Evans, her parents Vi and Stan, her sister Bev and son Scott. She is survived by her brother Mike, brothers/sister-in-laws Chuck, Cile, and Kelly, her daughters Susan (Trevor) Trachsel and Liz (Jason) Worman, 3 step-daughters (who she loved as her own) Stephanie Evans, Laurel Evans, and Trish Hack-Rubenstein, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A memorial will be planned for the spring. Patricia J. Evans February 5, 1941 - November 20, 2018
