Pearl Alma Crouse was born on November 16, 1931 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and was the youngest of eight children born to Lillian and Oscar Dixon. After high school, she became an executive assistant for an oil field service. Pearl had a family, including Vickie (Ron) Briggs and Joni (Jackie) Piercy, four grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. During her life, Pearl moved to live in Newport, Oregon, where she stayed for the rest of her life. She died at the age of 86 at her home in Newport, Oregon on August 3, 2018. Her family was the pride and joy of her life. She especially enjoyed rocking and singing to each new grandchild and great-grandchild – they called her “Gran” and she was the center of a large, loving family.
Pearl is survived by her two daughters, Vickie (Ron) Briggs and Joni (Jackie) Piercy, four grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She loved the Lord, her family, playing games (especially “Sorry”), and dessert. Her generous nature, competitive spirit, and infectious smile will be missed.
A family service will be held at a later date.
