Jerry Patrick (Sam) Houston was born January 13, 1956 in Juarez Mexico, to Kenneth Oscar Houston and Rosa Maria Houston. He passed away on September 19th, 2019 at the age of 63 years old.
Sam was a 36 year veteran of the Lincoln County Road Department. You all saw him at some point improving the many roads in Lincoln County. He loved his dogs, their offspring are spread around his family and across the country.
Sam was an avid collector of all things musical – guitars, amps, drums, CD’s, cassette tapes, and of course vinyl records. There wasn’t a band worth seeing that that he didn’t see!
Sam was an RC collector and model builder. He was a WWII history buff who collected model planes, tanks, and trains of the era. He enjoyed his model railroad collection along with the LEGO sets he accumulated, the envy of his nieces and nephews.
Sam pursued numerous interests, and could talk with anyone about anything. Sam will be truly missed, but he lives on in our hearts and the roads of Lincoln County!
His life will be celebrated at the Rogue Brewery on the Bay, 2320 SE Marine Science Dr. Newport, OR 97365 on Sunday October 13th from 1-3PM.
