Charlie Allen

Charlie Allen of Waldport, Oregon died February 20, 2018 of natural causes. She was born February 13, 1928 to Thomas Bunch Pierce and Vivian Pearl Fledger Pierce in Gary, Texas. On February 14, 1964 she married Vernon Charles “Barney” Allen.

Charlie has been a resident of Waldport since 1962. She owned and operated the “Burger Bar” until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of the Crestview Golf Course and belonged to the “Our Savior” Lutheran Church in Waldport. After retirement her greatest hobbies were golf, traveling, cooking, and playing pinochle.

She is survived by her granddaughter Kristen Landis Jones (Jeffrey) of Portland, OR, grandson Scott Landis (Pam) of Eugene, OR, and their father Ben Landis of Waldport, OR; stepdaughters: Patricia Olson, Rita Prince, Diane Castignetti of CA, Nancy DeAtley of MO, and their families; with a total of 14 grandchildren, 23+ great-grandchildren, and 4+ great-great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Barney (2009) and her only daughter Phyllis Landis (1999).

A Memorial Service is planned for 11am, June 23, 2018 at the Our Savior Lutheran Church, 38 N Bayview Dr., Waldport, OR 97394.  Potluck following Services, Burgers & Hotdogs provided in honor of the "Burger Bar."
