               Elecia Ann Brundell

January 10, 1935  -  August 12, 2017

Elecia Ann Brundell died Saturday, August 12th.  She was 82 years old.  Her birthplace was Burbank, California, where her father worked in the motion picture industry.  She died peacefully in Yachats, Oregon where she resided for years.

She attended elementary and high school in the San Fernando Valley.  She attended Emaculate Heart High School and was a student of Sister Corita Kent, a celebrated artist who challenged Elecia and guided her creativity. Elecia completed her formal education, graduating with a Master’s Degree  in Fine Arts.

Elecia’s marriage to Louis Kelsh brought four children – Louis, Lisa, Linda, and Leslie – and four grandchildren.  She is also survived by her older brother, Fred R. Knoth of Downey, California.

Elecia worked in an amazing variety of occupations while living at various locations along the West Coast, Alaska, and Hawaii.  She was a screen extra and dancer in several Hollywood Films including Bye Bye Birdie.  She was also a stand in for Jeanne Crain, a popular actress from early 1940’s thru the seventies.  Elecia was a hand model and performed hand inserts for product ads and commercials produced by Universal Studios.  You may recognize her hand, poking the original Pilsbury Doughboy ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nR8SBa962Fk ).  She was the manager of a major chain of retail stores in Indio, California and an office manager at a wholesale lumber company in Huntington Beach, California.

Elecia established, owned and operated her own business, a tremendous success which helped fund her love of travel and special interest in North American and Southwestern Folk Art.  This led her to her most recent venture, opening her store “The Dream Merchant” in Waldport, Oregon.

Throughout her life Elecia was an ardent collector of folk art, which she shared and sold in her store and her elaborately decorated home with tremendous flair, hosting an annual theme based dinner for the Quiet Water Community to enjoy.

Her daughter, Leslie Kelsh, was her constant companion and source of support.
