Frank Ilias Finch III was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on August 8. 1939. He was 81 years old when he passed and this year celebrated 29 years of sobriety, for which he was really proud. He was a member of one of the local AA groups and rarely missed a meeting. Frank attended Colorado Military Academy in his youth and went into the Air Force after that, where he studied to be a mechanic.
Frank loved and studied music. He could sing and play many instruments but he favored the drums. He traveled the states playing music and was with different groups throughout the years. As music didn't always pay the bills, Frank was a jack of all trades, working in construction and odd jobs here and there. Later in life he took up gunsmithing and taught classes on gun safety. He was with the Newport Sheriff's Posse for over 20 years and was President of the Oregon State Posse Association in 2003.
Frank loved listening to Willie Nelson and Frank Sanatra. His wife Janet passed on before him leaving a bitter sadness. He found comfort with his little chihuahua "Little Bit", who he adored and she became the most important thing in his last days. Frank was generous and kind and was always ready to help whoever needed it. He was a character! and a friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
Frank requested no services but please feel free to leave a condolence, and share a memory, story or picture.
Frank will be placed with his family at the Mountain Home Cemetery in Elwood Oregon.
