Frank David Parker, Sr.
December 18, 1951- March 12, 2023
Frank David Parker, Sr. "Dave" was born in Hood River, Oregon to Douglas and Rosella Parker. The family later moved to California as his father was a newspaper publisher owning newspapers in Oregon and California. Dave was involved with newspaper functions as a teenager. He was a pressman and helped with page set up, page break down and reducing the used lead into molds. Dave attended Helix High School near San Diego. The family moved to Sheridan, Oregon where Dave graduated from Sheridan High School.
Later, Dave moved back to San Diego where he worked in a newspaper and print shop. It was there that he decided to join the US Navy and help fight in the Vietnam War. After he served, he moved back to Oregon and attended Chemeketa College. He met his future wife Sandy and they had a child named Frank David Jr.
Dave had numerous jobs in Oregon, the last one before he retired was construction and maintenance at Chinook Winds. He lived at the coast for many years near his sister, Kathy and they both helped look after each other. He was a commander of the VFW and a member of the Eagles Lodge at the coast.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Kathy. He is survived by his son Frankie, brothers Doug (Pauline), Charles, sister Patricia and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are pending at Willamette National Cemetery.
