JACK ALAN KAHN
11/19/62 - 7/04/16
On July 4th 2016, our beloved Jack was driving his pickup on a dirt road, near his home along the Siletz river, when he lost control and rolled his vehicle down an embankment where he died instantly.
Our beloved father, brother, uncle, son, grandpa and best friend to all, will be dearly missed and leaves a hole in our heart and our lives that cannot be replaced. Let memories remind you of the very special person who will always be in your heart.
He was a great man who touched many lives, and for that we are grateful. He enjoyed his life to the fullest, boating, fishing, and spending time with friends and family. He loved taking vacations to beautiful places, then coming back and sharing his stories.
You can shed tears that he is gone, or you can smile because he has lived. You can close your eyes, and pray that he'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all he's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him, or it can be full of the life that you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live in yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him only that he is gone, or cherish his memory and let it live on. You can close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what he'd want. Open your eyes, smile, love and go on.
May the winds of Heaven blow softly and whisper in your ear, how much we love and miss you, and wish you were here.
Rest in Peace our beloved father, son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, and grandfather. You will be in our hearts forever.
A Celebration of Jack's Life is planned for 2:00pm on Saturday, July 30 at the Fishermen's Memorial Sanctuary in Newport. Here is a link with directions:
