James Philip Pfleger, “Jim”, was born in Boston on December 17, 1948 to Catherine Francis and Frank Syblie. He grew up as the youngest of 9 children. A true free spirit, Jim left home at 16 and wandered the United States for many years, working jobs such as a deep sea fisherman on trawlers in the North Atlantic and the Bering Sea, as a drug and alcohol counselor in Arctic Alaska, and as a journeyman painter.
Jim was a spiritual seeker his whole life, and a great devotee of the Divine Mother. In the last 4 years of his life, he lived in Waldport, Oregon with his close friend of 24 years, Jenny Lamb. He was a most beloved and loyal friend to many. At 72 years old, Jim left his body peacefully on March 19, 2021.
Jim is survived by his siblings Charles Mary Elliott, Susan Fitzpatrick, and Louis Doyle. He had MANY nieces and nephews who loved him along with MANY great nieces and nephews that he enjoyed when he was visiting. He is going to be truly missed by all.
Ever the kind and compassionate person, Jim asks those who want to honor him “to share a kindness with the world.
