Jason Lee Howard

On March 23, 2017, our friend and brother Jason Lee Howard passed away.  He was born March 22, 1963 to Robert Lee and Margaret Jean Howard in Newport, Oregon and left us too soon.  He was a graduate of Newport High School and after graduation attended Western Oregon University where he received his Bachelors degree in law enforcement. 

Jason had a number of jobs in his life.  After college he worked in Seaside, Oregon as a police officer, he was an assistant manager for PayLess Drug and GI Joe's and road crew supervisor for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department - a job he particularly enjoyed. 

It was while at PayLess that Jason met and married Ruby Bell.  They were married in 1989 and divorced in 2005, but remained friends 'til the end.  He married Melissa Estep in 2006, but they later divorced as well.  Jason loved the outdoors and was never happier than when he was hunting or fishing with his friends.  He was not blessed with children of his own, but loved his nieces and nephews as if they were his own and enjoyed taking them along to learn the outdoor skills he was so good at.  He was a good friend, a good son, a great uncle and the best husband he could be and we will miss him.

A Service will take place on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at the Eureka Cemetery 915 N.E. Yaquina Heights Dr., Newport, Oregon 97365 at 10:30 a.m., then a no host buffet at Izzy's Pizza 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. 5251 N. Coast Hwy, Newport, Oregon 97365.

Additional info: bring a chair as there is no seating outside.
