Obituary for Patricia Mae Slinger
September 7, 1929 – July 2, 2021
Patricia was born September 7, 1929 in Myrtle Point, Oregon to Estelle Flora & Frank Lee Porter. She had an older brother, Paul Roger, who was killed in a logging accident at the age of 17. She also had a half-brother, Nile W Porter who died before her in August 2019. Patricia worked in the food industry in her younger days then as a stay at home Mom for many years. When her children became older, she took a job as a mail carrier out of Waldport. She was very dedicated to her job and would make sure her customers got their delivery even if it meant she got out of her car and walked the mail to their homes due to a road blockage or even when she was in a hit and run accident where she did not go to the hospital but got a friend to help her finish the delivering the mail for that day. Patricia had that job for 25 years before retiring.
She was a believer in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was baptized when she was younger at the Christian Church in Nye Beach. Patricia attended the Baptist Church of Waldport until she was unable to get to the service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Estelle and Frank Porter, brother Paul Roger, Grandson, Courtney John Hayes, and Great Granddaughter, Destiny Grace Fields. She is survived by her children Paul Aramis, Pam (Gary) Blockus, Sandy (Larry) Corliss, Joanna Noonchester, James Slinger, Frank (Barbara) Slinger, 10 grandchildren,15 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She will be buried at the Eureka Cemetery in Newport Oregon. A family celebration will be conducted later in August.
