Rodney Lee Anderson passed away Monday, March 29th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. His son Dylan Anderson and daughter-in-law Amy Anderson were at his side.
Rodney was one of three children born to Leonard and Doris Anderson of Toledo, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister Rhonda Hamstreet and is survived by his older brother Leonard L. Anderson.
During his working years Rodney lived the life of a “pile-buck,” building bridges and docks throughout the Pacific Northwest and Hawaii. Upon retirement from bridge building he purchased a salmon trawler and fished the coasts of Oregon and Alaska. After finally settling down he could be found paddling his beloved kayaks up and down the Yaquina River, planning his next big adventure to Alaska or the San Juan Islands.
Rodney’s strong will and unique personality will be missed by all who knew him; but most especially by his son Dylan and daughter-in-law Amy, his “adopted” grandchildren, his niece Kari Mueller and her family, his nephew Brent Hamstreet and his family, his niece Kayleen Davis and particularly her daughter Jessica.
We love and miss you Pops, always.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for close family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers please donate in Rodney’s memory to Samaritan Evergreen Hospice of Lincoln County.
