Guy Arlen Elliott

Guy A. Elliott 62, of Depoe Bay passed away Monday August 15, 2016 of cancer. Guy was born January 1, 1954 in Portland, Oregon. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sue; two sons, Jacob and his spouse Brooke of Graham, Washington; Steve and companion Jessica of Portland, Oregon; two grandchildren, Ryan and Raegan of Graham, Washington; Aunt Maxine Elliott of Vancouver, Washington and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stan and Naoma Elliott and one brother, Michael Elliott.

For a good portion of his life Guy was a Commercial Pilot hauling cargo, private charters and Forest Services flights. When Mount St. Helens started its first rumblings in March 1980, Guy flew the chartered plane for the Forest Service employees and geologist, he was also the mobile tower controller for the airspace around and above the mountain. Over the next several months he spent numerous hours flying around the mountain. For the last 6 years, Guy and his wife have managed the Inn at Arch Rock in Depoe Bay. Guy was also an accomplished guitar player whose greatest joy was being involved in Church Music Ministry in Gresham, Oregon and Hot Springs, South Dakota.
