The central Oregon coast town South Beach lost a valuable member when Ilione ("Lee") Morrison went 'over the rainbow", the term she used for loss of life. Born in Ridgefield, WA, to John Frederick and Ilione Meyers Schenk. Ilione graduated from Corvallis Oregon High School, attended Brenau University in Gainesville, GA, then returned to Oregon to serve as social page editor of the Corvallis Gazette Times newspaper in 1948. She married to Oregon State University graduate Mance Rose in 1949 and, in 1953, became the mother of the couple's twin sons, Gregory Mancel and Nicholas John Rose. In 1957 she bore a third child, her daughter Marcy Ilione Rose. Of many activities throughout her lifetime, Ilione considered raising her family and maintaining a beautiful and creative home, by far, her greatest privilege. Upon her husband's acceptance of the position of national marketing manager of General Mills, Inc. in 1958, the family moved to Minnesota, where Ilione became active in community services.

She was a member of the Minneapolis YWCA board of directors; president of the board of directors of the Minnetonka Center for Arts and Education; and a member of Lake Minnetonka's Tonka Bay village council. In 1967 the family returned to the West coast, settling in Corona del Mar, CA. Ilione became a member of the board of Newport Harbor Fine Arts Patrons and Laguna Beach Art Museum's board of directors. Following dissolution of her marriage and the growth of her children, Ilione returned to Oregon, found a home on the central Oregon coast and continued her community service activities. In 1987 she married Charles Norton Morrison. Before becoming restricted in recent years by Parkinson's disease, she served on the board of Oregon Coast Council for the Arts; founded Coastal Arts Guild, serving several times as president of the board; was a member of the board, Oregon State University Thundering Seas Museum and Institute for Fine Crafts; enjoyed service as a volunteer with the Oregon Coast Aquarium; and was co-chair of Lincoln County Coalition, Oregon Cultural Trust. In 2010 she honored as a Community Legend at a banquet held by the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts. Her spirit lives on in her children: Dr. Gregory Rose of Carbondale, IL, Nicholas Rose of Menifee, CA and Marcy Rose Pole of Camas, WA; her grandchildren: Julian Rose, currently residing in Brooklyn, NY; Kimberly Rose Augeri in Papillion, NB; Alexander and Alicia Pole in Camas, WA; and her great grandson Levi Augeri.
