Message from Dee McMurrey, formerly of Yachats, Oregon

Karen was my teacher and friend. Karen was a compassionate woman, with the intuitive ability to be present to another and deeply listen on many levels. Karen's insights and wisdom were offered with her calm ways in an arena of gentleness. Karen did not live a life of fear; she trusted life with a passion. Her trials and tribulations made her a larger than life woman. Karen embraced life's learnings and responded to The Call. The Call to be whole, to give with fullness of heart, to see truth with courage, and to address each morning with gratitude. Karen's way of being was a weaving of her authentic self and her service to others, her family, friends and allies. I have been spending time outside with the full moon, on the eve of her Yachats Commons Memorial, singing to Karen's memory, crying with depth of soul for this honor of knowing this incredible woman. Matthew, if you feel a little movement on your left shoulder, above your heart, over the years, it just might be Karen doing her Leprechaun dance. Above all, Karen radiated a sense of magic about this thing called daily life, and Karen will be dancing in heaven, just as she passionately danced fully in this lifetime May 15, 1949 to July 14, 2016. Thank you to the family for graciously giving Karen the opportunity to be by "her" ocean these past months. Love and Esteem to Karen River Wood Walker, from Red Moon Cloud
